Tapia Dental Studio is a modern general dentistry practice in Greenville, NC, rooted in the belief that excellent dental care should be honest, accessible, and genuinely welcoming to everyone. Dr. Erica Tapia founded this practice to serve her community the way she always believed it should be served: with transparency, warmth, and a real commitment to beautiful outcomes at every income level.

Dr. Erica Tapia’s story is one of passion, courage, and purpose. As a first-generation immigrant and eldest daughter, she overcame challenges and followed her dream with determination. A generous mentor opened the door during high school, sparking the journey that led her to dentistry.
Before ever setting foot in dental school, Dr. Tapia spent seven years working chairside as a dental assistant and one year at the front desk. That foundation gave her something most dentists don't have: a firsthand understanding of what it actually feels like to be a patient. She knows the anxiety, the confusion over treatment plans, and the frustration of feeling like no one is really explaining things. That experience shapes every appointment she runs.
Dr. Tapia earned her DMD from ECU School of Dental Medicine, and her roots in Eastern North Carolina run deep. She is one of only two fully bilingual English and Spanish dentists in Greenville out of nearly 30 area providers, and she considers serving the Spanish-speaking community one of the most meaningful parts of her work. For patients who have faced language barriers in healthcare settings, Tapia Dental Studio is a place where that barrier simply does not exist.
Her clinical philosophy is straightforward: lead with your patient's chief complaint, communicate visually using iPads and screens so nothing gets lost in dental shorthand, and build every treatment plan around what the patient actually wants and can realistically afford. She does not oversell. She does not pressure. She gives her honest best opinion and trusts her patients to make informed decisions from there.
Beyond the practice, Dr. Tapia has participated in the Mission of Mercy Clinic and completed dental volunteer work in Guatemala, bringing care to patients who otherwise would not have had access. She is a working mother of two young children, a singer on her church's worship team, and someone who believes that the way you show up for your community matters, inside the office and out.
Dr. Tapia founded Tapia Dental Studio because she wanted to build something that reflects everything she believes dentistry can be: modern, detail-driven, warm, and genuinely accessible to the people who need it most.

From the moment you contact us, you'll notice that things are a little different here. Our team is experienced, communicative, and genuinely invested in making your visit easy. We use Archy for digital intake, appointment reminders, and follow-up communication, so the administrative side of your care is as streamlined as the clinical side.
Patient Experience
Dr. Tapia begins every new patient appointment by asking one simple question: what is your chief complaint? Your concern becomes the focus of the visit, and everything else is built around addressing that first. Using iPads and in-room screens, she will show you exactly what she sees and walk you through her findings in plain language. From there, she will ask what you want to accomplish and build a treatment plan around your goals, your timeline, and your budget. After your visit, a member of the team will stay with you to review your treatment plan, answer any remaining questions, and make sure you feel confident about the path forward.

She has participated in the Mission of Mercy Clinic, one of the largest free dental care events in the country, providing care to patients who would otherwise go without. She has also completed dental volunteer work in Guatemala, bringing treatment to underserved communities abroad.
